Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish was not provided in the dataset since the tonnage band (1 -10 tonnes/year) does not require that endpoint.

Acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and acute toxicity to algae have been determinedusing OECD 202 and OECD 201 experimental studies. The inhibitory effect of the substance on the respiration rate of aerobic wastewater micro-organisms of activated sludge was investigated in a 3-hour respiration inhibition test according to the OECD Guideline 209. These three studies were performed in compliance with GLP.

The key ecotoxicity values for the substance were as follow:

-  Aquatic Invertebrates: 48-h EC50 was 0.054 mg/L

-  Aquatic algae: 72-h ErC50 was 0.051 mg/L

-  Microorganisms: 3h-EC50 was 58.2 mg/L

Based on these results, the lowest acute E(L)C50 is lower than 1 mg/L.

Therefore, the substance would be classified as acute 1 to aquatic organisms in accordance with the classification of the CLP.
