Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For standolized soybean oil, studies on the aquatic toxicity are available for daphnia. The data for fish, algae (acute and chronic) and sludge were read-across from standolized linseed oil. Also the results of an aquatic toxicity test with the biodegradation products of standolized linseed oil is read-across from standolized linseed oil.

An overview of all results is presented in the table below:

Test

Exposure concentrations

Result (nominal, WAF tests)

Algae

OECD 201

WAF test, loading rates of 1, 10 and 100mg/l -read-across to linseed oil, polymerized

NOEL and EL50>100 mg/l, rel 2

Daphnia

OECD 202

WAF test, loading rates of 1, 10 and 100mg/l

NOEL and EL50>100 mg/l, rel 1

Daphnia

in line with OECD 202

1:20 dilution of effluent

The 48h-EC50 of the (total mass of the) biodegradation products is above 1 mg/l, rel 2

Daphnia OECD 211 reproduction WAF test, loading rates 1, 10 and 100 mg/l -

read-across to linseed oil, polymerized

NOELR 100 mg/l , rel 2
Fish OECD 203 100 and 1000 mg/l -read-across to linseed oil, polymerized NOEC 1000 mg/l and LC50>1000 mg/l. rel 2
Sludge OECD 209 100 mg/l - read-across to linseed oil, polymerized 3h-EL50: > 100 mg/l, rel

Conclusion

No toxicity was observed at levels up to 100 mg/L for standolized soybean oil

For biodegradation products of standolized soybean oil, the 48 h EC50 is expected to be > 1 mg/L
