Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Remarks on result:
other: No evidence of decomposition reaction was observed over a period of 5 minutes.
Remarks:
Bunsen was applied for 1 minute causing sample blacken at area of application but no ignition.
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the test substance was determined to be not oxidising.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the oxidising properties of the substance according to EU Method A.17. A reduced testing programme was employed because of the very slow or complete lack of combustion observed in the test at 10, 30, 60 and 80% mixtures. The test substance attenuated the burning of cellulose rather than enhancing it. Under the study conditions, the test substance was determined to be not oxidising (Pittam, 1987).

Description of key information

The oxidising properties were determined according to EU Method A.17 (Pittam, 1987).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of an oxidisation study, the substance does not require classification for this endpoint according to CLP (EC 1272/2008) criteria.
