Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference substance:
Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper
Reference substance:
Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper
Name:
Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper
Reference substance:
Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance "Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper" fulfills the screening criteria for P/vP and B/vB, since log Kow is > 4.5 and the substance is not readily biodegradable, shown on a structural analogue substance.

However, it can be shown, that the substance degrades abiotically by hydrolysis and that none of the degradation products has PBT or vP/vB properties.

(see "PBT WORKING GROUP, ECB – SUMMARY FACT SHEET, PBT LIST NO. 94, TC NES SUBGROUP ON IDENTIFICATION OF PBT AND VPVB SUBSTANCES, RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION OF THE PBT/VPVB PROPERTIES OF: triphenylphosphine, 12.02.2008", attached to No. 2.3 endpoint summary).

Consequently, the substance can neither be a PBT nor a vPvB substance. See endpoint record "PBT assessment "Reaction mass of Copper,di-µ-iodotris[triphenylphosphine]di- and iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper"" and the expert statement "PBT and vPvB assessment of reaction mass of iodobis(triphenylphosphino)copper and copper, di-μ-iodotris [triphenylphosphine]di- CAS 47107-74-4 & CAS 60819-05-8 – BRUGGOLEN® H3301" attached to chapter No. 13.for details.
