Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP Study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 115 (Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
ring method
Surface tension:
68.1 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Testing was performed on a saturated solution, i.e. at below 5 µg/l.
Conclusions:
Based on the result obtained, MORTRACE SB Conc. should not be regarded as a surface active material.

Description of key information

Although not required for a substance that has a solubility less than 1 mg/L, we have nevertheless tried to measure if this substance is surface active.
At its highest concentration (< 5 µg/L), the surface tension was found to be 68.1 mN/m at 20 °C, which means that it is not a surface active material.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
68.1
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
0.005
