Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acute fish toxicity

Two studies have been conducted on similar substances indicating no effect at the maximum tested concentration, equivalent to nominal 180 mg/l. The measured concentrations are much lower due to the water solubility and hydrolytic instability of the substances:

LC0 of TMP triplargonate > 124 mg/l

LC0 of TMP isotristearate > 48 mg/l

 Long-term toxicity to fish

A study has been conducted on similar substances (TMP CAS 126-57-8) indicating no effect up to the saturation level.

NOEC ≥ 0.0600 µg test item/L

LOEC > 0.0600 µg test item/L.

Acute aquatic invertebrate toxicity

Three studies have been conducted on similar substances indicating no effect at the maximum tested concentration, equivalent to nominal 32 and 100 mg/l. The measured concentrations are much lower due to the water solubility and hydrolytic instability of the substances.

EC0 of TMP triplargonate > 9.3 mg/l (measured)

EC0 of TMP isotristearate > 7.6 mg/l (measured)

EC0 of TMP fatty acids esters > 100 mg/l (nominal)

 Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

A study has been conducted on similar substances (TMP CAS 126-57-8) indicating no effect up to the saturation level.

NOEC ≥ 0.16 µg test item/L

LOEC > 0.16 µg test item/L.

Algae toxicity

Two studies have been conducted on similar substances indicating no effect at the maximum tested concentration, equivalent to nominal 10 mg/l. The measured concentrations are much lower due to the water solubility and hydrolytic instability of the substances.

LC0 of TMP triplargonate > 4.4 mg/l

LC0 of TMP isotristearate > 3.7 mg/l

In all tested similar substances no effect up to the solubility limits has been ever reported, the substance is readily biodegradable, therefore it is considered as non dangerous for the environment.
