Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

72h-EC50 of > 0.1 mg/L (growth rate, nominal)

72h-NOEC of ≥ 0.1 mg/L (growth rate, nominal)

No effects on growth rate of freshwater green algae up to the limit of solubility

Toxicity to microorganisms:

3h-NOEC: ≥ 1000 mg/L

Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indication that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur.

The water solubility was determined to be 500 µg/L for N,N'-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide).

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

N,N’[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) caused no effect to Daphnia magna up to the limit of solubility.

48h-EC50: > 0.108 mg/L (measured, geometric mean)

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

N,N’[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) caused no effects on growth rate of freshwater green algae up to the limit of solubility.

72h-EC50 of > 0.1 mg/L (growth, nominal)

72h-NOEC of ≥ 0.1 mg/L (growth, nominal)

No effects on growth rate of freshwater green algae up to the limit of solubility

Toxicity to microorganisms:

Data from a respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge according to OECD Guideline No. 209 (2010) with N,N’-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) are available.

The 3h-NOEC was considered to be 1000 mg/L.
