Preliminary test
The content of test item dissolved in the water sample was 0.279 g/L.

Main test
The results for the samples taken at 24, 48 and 72 hours are given in the table in the next section. The maximum difference (MD) of the concentrations determined in the 24, 48 and 72 hour test samples was ≤ 15%. Based on this, the water solubility of the test item is given as the mean value of the analysed concentrations.
The centrifugation method was not checked. As the maximum difference between the different stirring times was 3.77%, it was considered that the obtained values were not biased by the presence of undissolved test item. A random event as insufficient centrifugation would increase variation between the results of analysis, which was not observed. The integrity of the study was, therefore, not affected.
A small response at the retention time of the test item was detected in the chromatogram of the pretreated blank mixture. The maximum contribution to the samples was 0.044%. It was considered that it has no significant effect on the results of the test samples.

Conclusions:
The flask method was applied for the determination of the water solubility of JNJ-42819543-AAA (T001596).
The water solubility of the test item at 20°C was 0.535 g/L.
The pH of the aqueous samples was 7.1 and 7.2.
