Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistence (P) Assessment

β-fructofuranosidase is considered readily biodegradable (99% after 28 d, OECD 301E; read-across). Thus, β-fructofuranosidase does not meet the screening criterion for persistency and it is not considered to be P or vP.

Bioaccumulation (B) Assessment

β-fructofuranosidase has a log Pow < 3 (< -1.3, OECD 107, read-across). Therefore, β-fructofuranosidase does not meet the B or vB screening criterion.

Toxicity (T) Assessment

All available acute and chronic effect concentrations are > 0.01 mg/L. Furthermore, β-fructofuranosidase is not classified according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and further amendments (ATPs). Therefore, the criteria set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 are not met and it is concluded that the substance is not T.

Conclusion: the substance is not PBT/vPvB.
