Principles of method if other than guideline:
The sample was prepared as 5% solutions in deionized water and tested at room temperature. The pH was measured utilizing a Metrohm 905 Titrando configured with a Unitrode electrode. A 3M potassium chloride electrolyte solution was used in the combination electrode. The instrument was calibrated with pH 4.0, 7.0,
and 10.0 NIST traceable aqueous buffer solutions at 25°C with a calibration slope of 99.9%. In pH calibration, the measured voltage in mV is plotted against the specified pH value of the buffer solution. The three buffer solutions were run as a check after the sample set and was within the defined parameters of ASTM E70.
