Key result
Boiling pt.:
252.7 °C
Atm. press.:

The tests were carried out at 98.0 kPa atmospheric pressure and at room temperature. Using a linear heating rate of 0.5°C/min, the boiling point of 2-tert-butyl-1,4-dimethoxybenzene was found to be 252.7 ± 0.45°C (95% confidence interval), i.e. 525.9 K. No significant change of colour or other changes suggesting degradation were observed.

Measured temperatures corresponding to the boiling point of 2-tert-butyl-1,4-dimethoxybenzene (three experiments (I, II, III) with two parallel samples each (1, 2).

Conclusions:
Using a linear heating rate of 0.5°C/min, the boiling point of Vetimoss was found to be 252.7 ± 0.45°C (95% confidence interval), i.e. 525.9 K.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of Vetimoss was determined using the Siwoloboff method and according to OECD guideline 103. Using a linear heating rate of 0.5°C/min, the boiling point of 2-tert-butyl-1,4-dimethoxybenzene was found to be 252.7 ± 0.45°C (95% confidence interval), i.e. 525.9 K.
