Conclusion on classification
The following information are taken into account for the purpose of the CLP classification of the Amides, C16-18 (even numbered), N-C16-18 (even numbered) alkyl (CAS 955-212-4):
Physico-chemical properties:
- Water solubility: < 0.051 mg/L OECD 105, GLP
- Biotic degradation: not readily biodegradable (26% after 28d according OECD 301B, GLP)
- Bioaccumulation: Log Kow > 6.5 (OECD 117, GLP)
Acute aquatic toxicity:
- Crustacea : EL50 >100 mg/L, WAF, GLP according OECD 202.
- Algae : ErL50> 100 mg/L, WAF, GLP according OECD 201.
Chronic aquatic toxicity :
- OECD 210 : NOELR >100 mg/L, WAF, GLP according OECD 210.
- OECD 211 : NOELR > 100 mg/L, WAF, 21 d, GLP, according OECD 211.
- OECD 201 : NOELR > 100 mg/L, WAF, 21 d, GLP, according OECD 201.
The test material is being poorly soluble, there was no toxicity observed in any test, especially according chronic toxicity tests obtained on three trophic levels. Therefore, no aquatic classification is required for the registered substance according to the Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).
The registered substance does not meets any of the criteria to be classified as hazardous according CLP regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008). Considering that the substance is not classified as hazardous, no PNEC are calculated for the environment.
Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number. The assignment of a registration number does however not guarantee that the information in the dossier is correct or that the dossier is compliant with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (the REACH Regulation).
