Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. According to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) criteria (as described in the Manual of Decisions for implementation of the 6th and 7th amendments, 2006, §13.2.3), and according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria and screening procedure (as listed in appendix 6 to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (6th revised edition, 2015) or in the ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, v4.1, October 2015, §R.7.1.11), NO REACTIVE GROUP was identified. Then explosive properties are not anticipated, and the acceptance procedure for Class 1 explosives shall not apply, no further testing is required.
As additional information, the DSC study conducted for boiling point measurement (please refer to Carrillo, 2011 study under section 4.3) supported the evidence of no exothermal decomposition up to 350°C.
