The adsorption/desorption of the test material could not be established by the OECD 121 guideline, due to the method being invalid for organic acids and cationic species. Therefore the Koc of the two constituent molecules (MEA and MEA carbamate) was estimated using KOCWIN which employs two different models: the Sabljic molecular connectivity method with improved correction factors; and the traditional method based on log KOW. The Koc (based on Kow) of the registered substance is estimated to be between 0.02547 and 0.2725, using MEA-c and MEA, respectively.
A determination of the adsorption coefficient by the HPLC method
detailed in OECD 121 was not possible. Therefore, an estimation was
performed using the KOCWIN programme, from the US EPA, to assess the two
constituents of the registered substance.
