Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

non flammable

Additional information

As the substance is a solid at ambient temperature, the relevant test for flammable properties is the flammability under ignition. A fully reliable experimental study is presented under point 4.13.

However, as having a low melting point, i.e. transition into liquid occurs below classification threshold, flash point testing was also considered relevant for the classification regarding flammable properties. A fully reliable experimental study is presented under point 4.11.

Based on the chemical structure and experience, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with air or water, therefore studies were deemed unnecessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 criteria, the substance failed to ignite in the preliminary test, therefore it is NOT classified as a flammable solid. Moreover, flash point is above the threshold value of 60°C, therefore it is NOT classified as a flammable liquid either.

According to Directive 67/548/EEC criteria, the substance failed to ignite in the preliminary test, therefore it is NOT classified as highly flammable (solid). Moreover, flash point is above the threshold value of 55°C, therefore it is NOT classified as flammable (liquid) either.
