Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation :
Move the person away from the contaminated area. Make the affected person rest.
Skin contact : Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with water. In case of inflammation (redness, irritation, ...) obtain
medical attention. Show this sheet to the doctor.
Eye contact : Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open. (at least 15 minutes).
Ingestion : NEVER attempt to induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water.
Further information: Place contaminated clothing in a sealed bag for disposal. Use appropriate protective equipment when treating a contaminated
person.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
- Suitable : Powders Foam Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Not suitable : Water.
Specific hazards : Flammable liquid.
During combustion:
Toxic vapours (halogen compounds) are released.
Specific fire fighting methods : Stay upwind.
Evacuate the personnel away from the fumes.
Use suitable extinguishers.
Cut off the supply of the product.
Treat as a hydrocarbon fire.
Do not breathe fumes.
Do NOT attempt to fight the fire without suitable protective
equipment.
In case of significant fire close by:
Cool down the containers/equipment exposed to heat with a
water spray. Ensure that there is NO direct contact between the water and the product
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
NO flames, NO sparks. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Do not breathe vapours. Do NOT approach from DOWNWIND.
"Exposure-controls/personal protection".
Prevent any contact with hot surfaces.Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorized personnel.
Warn of danger.
Shelter from vapours by keeping upwind.
Stop the leak.
Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of gas in the liquid state.
Handling and storage
HANDLING :
Technical measures: Vapour extraction at source. Earth the equipment. Closed system, ventilation. Install a retention tank.
Measures: Avoid contact with water or humidity.Avoid contact with hot surfaces.Avoid any direct contact with the product. Prevent the build-up of electrostatic charge.
STORAGE
Technical measures : Storage tanks must be:
earthed and equipped with an adequate safety valve.
The floor of the depot should be impermeable and designed to
form a water-tight basin.
- Recommended : Store:
- the container tightly closed and dry.
- away from any source of ignition.
- at temperatures not exceeding 38°C.
- away from direct sunlight.
Storage conditions
Incompatible products : Strong oxidizing agents.
Water, humidity.
Packaging : - Polyethylene flexible container in a metal drum.
Bulk product :
- Stainless steel container under dry inert gas.
For small quantities:
- Glass bottles.
STORAGE
Safe handling advice : Comply with instructions for use.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures : Extraction to remove vapours at their source.
Only process in a closed system.
Personal protective equipment
- Hand protection : Impermeable protective gloves.
- Eye protection : Goggles.
- Skin and body protection : Protective clothing.
- Selection criteria: Personal protective equipment must be defined after risk assessment for the workstation.
Collective emergency equipment: Safety shower. Eye foutain.
Hygiene measures: Do NOT eat, drink or smoke during use.Separate normal clothes from work-clothes.
Stability and reactivity
Stability : Stable under normal conditions of use.
Hazardous reactions
- Conditions to avoid : May hydrolyze slowly.
- Materials to avoid : Reacts with:- strong oxidizing agents.
- water and aqueous solutions.
- Hazardous decomposition products: On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases: toxic gases.
(Hydrofluoric acid). (Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)).
Disposal considerations
RESIDUES FROM PRODUCT
Prohibition : Discharging waste into rivers and drains is forbidden.
Destruction/Disposal : Incinerate at a licensed installation.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING
