Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study was performed to assess the ready biodegradability of MON 13900 according to the EU Method C.4-D and OECD Guideline 301 F in compliance with GLP. An automated closed-system oxygen consumption measuring apparatus (Sapromat) was used. The test substance was added to two replicates of test medium solution at a concentration of 21.3 mg in 250 mL. The medium solution was inoculated with activated sludge (pH 7.7) to give 27 mg suspended solids/L. Comparisons were made to untreated inoculated medium and inoculated medium treated with sodium benzoate at 100.0 mg/L. The mixtures were maintained at 20°C for 28 d and the oxygen consumed and carbon dioxide evolved continuously measured. Theoretical oxygen demand was calculated.Under the test conditions, the % biodegradation for two replicates was 0 and 1.5. Hence, the test substance could not be classified as readily biodegradable.
