Column 2 of Annex VII criteria for melting/freezing point testing of ethylbenzene provide the following adaptations to required testing data:

 

·                   The study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C.

 

The peer reviewed published data as well as QSAR estimated data on melting point of ethylbenzene report values well below -20 deg. C. Therefore, no testing is required for this endpoint. The value of – 94.9 deg. C (handbook data) is adopted for the purpose of the Chemical Safety Assessment.
