No evidence of the solidification or freezing of the test material was observed down to a temperature of 253 ±0.5 K.

Conclusions:
A freezing temperature value of <-20°C (253 ±0.5 K) at 1013 hPa has been determined for the substance using an appropriate test method and in-line with GLP. The result is considered reliable.

Description of key information

Freezing point: <-20°C at 1013 hPa (EU Method A1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-20 °C

Additional information

Three reliable measured melting/freezing point results are available for cyclohexyl(dimethoxy)methylsilane. A measured freezing point value of <-20°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the submission substance using EU Method A.1 and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

In another study used as supporting data, a melting point of <-50°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the submission substance using a capillary method and in compliance with GLP. Similarly, a measured melting point value of -72°C was determined for the substance. Although full details are not available for this study, the result is also considered reliable. The supporting studies are in good agreement with the key study that the freezing point of the substance is <-20°C. The key study was selected as the most recent study.
