Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
17 March 1998 to 24 April 1998
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The study has to be performed with amounts 5 times higher than the water solubility determined by preliminary experiments) (refer amendment no.1, dated April 29, 1998).
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The solution obtained from dissolving the test substance in water showed a high viscosity. Therefore it was decided to perform the experiments with amounts lower than required by the guideline (Requirement of the guideline: The study has to be performed with amounts 5 times higher than the water solubility determined by preliminary experiments) (refer amendment no.1, dated April 29, 1998).
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
636.2 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
5.6
Conclusions:
Water solubility of the test substance at a temperature of 20°C: 636.2 g/L (RSD:7%) based on test material
Executive summary:

Study conducted to EU test guidance 92/69/EEC part A6 using the HPLC analysis method in compliance with GLP.

Water solubility of the test substance at a temperature of 20°C: 636.2 g/L (RSD:7%) based on test material. The substance is considered to be very soluble in water.
