Description of key information

In a 72 hour acute toxicity study, cultures of Selenastrum capricornutum were exposed to CA 2342A at nominal concentrations of {0, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 mg /L} under static conditions in accordance with the OECD Guideline 201 (1984).
ErC 50 (0 -72 h) of CA 2342A was determined to be > 100 mg/l based on nominal concentrations.
The NOErC (0 -72h) and the NOEbC (0 -72h) were both 50 mg/l based on the nominal concentrations of CA 2342A.
Based on the inherent toxicity of CA 2342A in this test alone and using the classification range given in Annex VI of the directive 67/548/EEC, CA 2342A is not toxic to algae.
