Additional information

Decyl laurate (CAS 36528-28-6) is characterized by extremely low water solubility (< 0.528 µg/L, OECD 195), very low, estimated vapour pressure (9.41E-6 Pa, 20 °C, SPARC v4.6) and a high estimated log Koc (> 5.0, KOCWIN v2.00). Therefore, sediment and soil are expected to be the main compartment for environmental distribution. However, due to its ready biodegradability (67% in 28 d, OECD 301 C), the substance is expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments including biological sewage treatment plants and is therefore not expected to persist in the environment.
