Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the hydrolysis of methyl decanoate (CAS No. 110-42-9) are available. However, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, column 2, 9.2.2.1, testing for hydrolysis is not required since the substance is readily biodegradable. In addition, the results from the supporting QSAR calculation (HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate that hydrolysis is not expected to be a relevant degradation pathway for this substance, with half-lives of 7.3 years (pH 7) and 266 days (pH 8)(López Parrón, 2011).
