Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, information requirement 7.5, the vapour pressure study does not need to be conducted for substances which have a melting point greater than 300 °C. If the melting point is between 200°C and 300°C, a recognised calculation method is sufficient.

This substance decomposes before melting at 288 °C. EPI Suite does not include the element yttrium within its parameters and the EPI Suite predictions on inorganic substances are outside the estimation domain of the software. The calculation method outlined in the standardised guideline EU Method A.4 requires boiling point information as input data. As the substance decomposes before melting, boiling point information is not available on the substance.

It is therefore not considered possible to perform the calculation method for the substance. Furthermore, since the substance decomposes at a temnperature so close to the cut-off for waiving, it is considered justified to omit testing for this endpoint.
