the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
A structural examination and an oxygen balance calculation were performed for yttrium acetate, in order to assess the requirement for further testing of the explosive potential of the compound, in accordance with the ‘Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance’.

The structural examination suggests that yttrium acetate is not likely to possess explosive properties (see attached report for further information)

Description of key information

A structural examination and an oxygen balance calculation were performed for yttrium acetate, in order to assess the requirement for further testing of the explosive potential of the compound, in accordance with the ‘Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance’.

The structural examination suggests that yttrium acetate is not likely to possess explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
