Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
15 - 19 May 2003
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
Remarks:
The testing facility indicated that the protocol was followed without deviation
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
The Swiss GLP Monitoring Authorities
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch n°: 00403487
- Analytical purity: > 98%
- Expiration date: 31 December 2003
- Storage condition: at room temperature
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 deg C/min, T002615 showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement T002615 was run out of the sample cube due to melting.

Conclusions:
In conclusion, T002615 is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.

Description of key information

The EU A.16 test demonstrated that T002615 is “not a self-heating substance” (Klimisch 1, Tognucci, 2003).

Key value for chemical safety assessment
