Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- General advice: -
- Following inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.
- Following skin contact: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse. Get medical attention if irritation develops.
- Following eye contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with a copious amount of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.
- Following ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If large quantities of this material are swallowed, call a physician immediately.
-Treatment should in general be symptomatic and directed to relieving any effects. Surgical exploration should be undertaken without delay. Thorough and extensive debridement of the wound and underlying tissue is necessary to minimise tissue loss and prevent or limit permanent damage. Note that high pressure may force the product considerable distances along tissue planes.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: In case of fire, use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide extinguisher or spray.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: water jet.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: None identified
- Advice for fire fighter: Fire-fighters should wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full turnout gear.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Immediately contact emergency personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment. Personal protection in case of a large spill: Splash goggles, Full suit, Boots, Gloves.
- Environmental precautions: Prevent runoff to surface waterways.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: : If emergency personnel are unavailable, contain spilled material. For small spills add absorbent (soil may be used in the absence of other suitable materials) scoop up material and place in a sealed, liquid-proof container for disposal. For large spills dike spilled material or otherwise contain material to ensure runoff does not reach a waterway. Place spilled material in an appropriate container for disposal. Minimize contact of spilled material with soils to prevent runoff to surface waterways.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid strong oxidizers.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
- Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from incompatible materials. Keep away from foodstuffs.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapours below their respective occupational exposure limits.
2. Organisational protection measures: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Wash hands after handling compounds and before eating, smoking, using lavatory, and at the end of day.
3. Hand protection: None required; however, use of gloves is good industrial practice.
4. Feet protection: None required; however, use of protective shoes is good industrial practice.
5. Body protection: None required; however, use of protective clothing is good industrial practice.
6. Eye protection: Safety glasses with side shields.
7. Respiratory protection: None required; however, use of adequate ventilation is good industrial practice.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity : Reactive with oxidising agents
2. Chemical stability : Stable under recommended storage conditions.
3. Possibility of hazardous reactions : not known
4. Conditions to avoid : strong oxiding substances
5. Incompatible materials : oxidising agents
6. Hazardous decomposition products: not known

Disposal considerations

Where possible, arrange for product to be recycled. Dispose of via an authorised person/ licensed waste disposal contractor in accordance with local regulations. European waste catalogue (EWC): 13 02 06* Synthetic engine, gear & lubricating oils
