Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Evaluation was made based on a study carried out according to OECD Guideline 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)) and EU Method C.19 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (KOC) on Soil and Sewage Sludge Using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)). The Koc and log Koc value of the major component in Small Vinyl Ester based on soil-absorption-reference data is 2.4 E+4 and 4.38, respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
24 000

Additional information

It is found that Koc is 24000, and log Koc is 4.38 both at 35 °C. The high values indicate that Small Vinyl Ester will bind tightly to soils and sediments and thus, reduce overall exposure potential.
