Additional information

According to OECD guideline 302B, no biodegradation of similar substance 02 based on CO2 evolution and calculated as % ThCO2 was observed in the Clariant key study (Clariant, 2007), where less than 20% degradation was attained after 28 days of contact time.

This outcome was confirmed by the results of the two supporting studies performed on similar substance 01 (CIBA, 1992) and on Direct Red 81 (Boruta , 1991).

Boruta test could not be used as a key study since the information about biodegradation is contained in a study of more than 50 dyes and no detailed informatiom about the execution of the test are inidcated in the report.
