Description of key information

A test with a structural analogue is available(Hüls 1992). Scenedesmus subspicatus was exposed to 0.05, 0.14, 0.43, 1.29, 3.82 and 11.45 mg/L diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide during 72 hours. Exponential growth was reported at all concentrations. The ErC50 is > 11.5 mg/L and the ErC10 is 7.2 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
11.5 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
7.2 mg/L
