Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
other: Summary of notification dossier of a new chemical substance in accordance with directive 92/32/EEC (Article 7/8/9/12) O.J.L. 154, Volume 35, 5 June 1992
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient - HPLC Method)
Version / remarks:
1992
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
ca. 4.2
Temp.:
25 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pH value not reported.
Details on results:
The material is known to be unstable in water systems under neutral or acidic conditions, so the mobile phase was buffered to pH 8.
Three main peaks were observed from the test substance indicating that some degradation had occurred. Since the reaction in water results in the formation of two substances with reasonable water solubility, it is assumed that the peak with the longest retention time (and also with the largest area) is that of the test substance.
Conclusions:
Using the HPLC method the partition coefficient (log Pow) of Incozol 2 was determined to be ca. 4.2 at 25 °C .
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient of Incozol 2 was determined according to EU method A.8 (HPLC method). The partition coefficient (log Pow) of Incozol 2 was determined to be ca. 4.2 at 25 °C.

Description of key information
