Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental data are available, but long-term aquatic toxicity testing on invertebrates is not proposed by the registrant as the chemical assessment does not indicate a need to investigate further effects on aquatic organisms. This is based on the knowledge that the substance is soluble in water, has low aquatic toxicity (no effects observed in acute tests) and a low bioaccumulation potential (logPow 0.58). In addition the substance 1,2-hexanediol is readily biodegradable (82.9 % on day 28) and therefore long term exposure to higher concentrations in the environment is not expected. In addition, current available information is sufficient for C&L purpose, thus it is not necessary to perform any new test.
