Conclusion on classification

Acute ecotoxicity data are not available for alkenes C11 -14. Data is read across from dodec-1 -ene, tetradecene and alkenes C10 -14 branched and linear, C12 rich. These data indicate that the lower carbon number components of alkenes C11 -14 are acutely toxic to aquatic invertebrates and algae at concentrations below 1mg/l. Alkenes C11 -14 are therefore classified as R50/53 under the DSD and as Acute and Chronic Category 1 under the CLP Regulations.
