Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

SUMMARY OF AVAILABLE DATA (key values)

Acute toxicity to aquatic organisms (pelagic):

- Fish (Brachydanio rerio): 96h-LC50 = 2.12 mg active content/L (as a LC50 value expressed in solid content was not reported, the LC50 value expressed in active content was used as a worst-case for the assessment);

- Crustaceans (Daphnia magna): 48h-EC50 = 4.6 mg solid content/L;

- Algae (Skeletonema costatum): 72h-EC50 = 2.69 mg solid content/L.

Chronic toxicity to aquatic organisms (pelagic):

- Fish (Pimephales promelas): 32d-EC10 = 0.075 mg solid content/L;

- Crustaceans (Daphnia magna): 21d-NOEC = 1.39 mg solid content/L;

- Algae (Skeletonema costatum): 72h-NOEC = 0.9 mg solid content/L.

Environmental fate:

- Rapidly degradable in the environment (demonstrated to be readily biodegradable in a 28-day ready biodegradation test);

- Low bioaccumulation potential (based on log Kow < 4)

All effective concentration are expressed in solid content and are relevant for the REACh-registered substance (= active content + minor constituents + impurities).

According to the CLP hazard classification criteria, the substance EC 939-457-4 does not have to be classified for acute environmental hazard but has to be classified as Aquatic Chronic 2 (H411) - Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
