Description of key information
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

Additional information
In a 72 hour acute toxicity study, the cultures of Pseudokirshneriella subcapitata were exposed to 11 -aminoundecanoic acid at nominal concentrations of 0 / 4.5 / 7.4 / 12.3 / 20.2 / 33.4 / 55.1 / 90.9 / 150 mg/L under static conditions in accordance with the OECD guideline 201.
Based on cell density 72h-NOEC=4.5 mg/L
72h-EC50= 23 mg/L
Based on growth rate 72h-NOEC=4.5 mg/L
72h-EC50 = 53 mg/L
Only a small abnormality was noted (turgid cells at concentrations of 150, 90.9 and 55.1 mg/L) but is not enought to invalidate the test.
As all validity criteria were fulfilled, OECD guideline and GLP requirements were followed and this study can be considered as valid without restriction.
Therefore, according to the Directive 67/548/EC, in the tested conditions 11 aminoundecanoic acid is considered as harmful for algae based on growth rate.
