Description of key information

A thermal analysis is used as key study to investigate the melting point. Based on the results obtained after this determination on Calcium stannate as such in an AI203 crucible under argon, it can be concluded that the melting point of this compound is higher than 1500°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

For the determination of the melting point, a thermal analysis is used. In this key study, the investigated material is put in a crucible and heated in a furnace. The approximate temperature at which the material begins to melt is determined visually. This method is used as a rapid screening method for the melting point. Based on the results obtained after this determination on Calcium stannate as such in an AI203 crucible under argon, it can be concluded that the melting point of this compound is higher than 1500°C.
