Description of key information

The test item is a solid organic salt, having no melting nor boiling point but starts to decompose at approx. 150 °C. The ionic compound has a water solubility of 409 g/L (pH 5.5, 20 °C) and a n-octanol solubility of greater than 250g/L (20 °C). From these values, the log P was calculated to be -0.21 at 20 °C. At 20 °C, the substance has a relative density of 0.96 and an aqueous solution with a concentration of 1 g/L has a surface tension of 31.3 mN/m. The vapour pressure of the solid compound is below 0.001 Pa at 25 °C. Furthermore, the substance is not flammable, does not show self-ignition up to a temperature of 400 °C and is not explosive nor oxidizing.

All of the above described information (except physical state) is used in a read across approach in the assessment of the target substance.
