Additional information

Due to the physico-chemical properties evaporation of 'Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomerisation product (biuret type)' to air is negligible. Under environmental conditions, the substance will almost be completely polymerized into polyureas, since the HDI trimer forms oligo- and polymers in contact with water. Significant concentrations of unreacted 'Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomerisation product (biuret type)' are not expected to occur in air, water, or sediment and soil.

The water-insoluble polyureas are considered to be essentially not bioavailable. Due to the large molecular size of polyureas, cellular uptake is unlikely. For this reason bioaccumulation is not expected.
