Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Melting point (EDTMP-xNa): The acid form was observed to undergo decomposition with melting from approximately 180°C (Atwal, 2012). This conclusion is read across to the salts.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A recent, reliable DSC test demonstrates that the anhydrous form of the acid undergo thermal decomposition at approximately 180°C. Salts would be expected to melt at a higher temperature than the acid, and to decompose. A freezing point of <0, ca. -10 and -14°C were reported in secondary sources to which no reliability could be assigned.
