Additional information

Due to the physico-chemical properties such as highly insoluble in water (< 0.01 mg/L), low volatilization potential (VP < 0.000049 Pa) and log Koc (> 5), (Z)-N-octadecyldocos-13-enamide (CAS No. 10094-45-8) is expected to mainly distribute to soil and sediment. According to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7. b (ECHA, 2012) once insoluble chemicals enter a standard sewage treatment plant; these substances are expected to be removed from the water column to a significant degree by adsorption to sewage sludge. Therefore the release to surface waters, and thereby exposure of sediment and soil, is considered as marginally as the substance is not bioavailable.
