Description of key information

The relative density of nickel matte has been determined using a gas comparison pycnometer, Method A3 Relative Density of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995. The density of all three groups of nickel matte are as follows:
Nickel Matte (sulphidic low-copper): 6.02 at 22.0 ± 0.5°C
Nickel Matte (sulphidic high-copper): 5.64 at 22.0 ± 1.0°C
Nickel Matte (metallic): 7.20 at 21.5 ± 0.5°C
