Description of key information

Experimental data for flammability of 4,4'-methylenebis(2-chloroaniline) were available. With regards to flammability (contact with water) and pyrophoric properties, it was considered sufficient to provide a statement based on the molecular structure rather than performing a full study. Overall, based on the experimental result and the structural evaluation the substance is considered non flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of 4,4’-Methylene bis (2-chloroaniline). Based on the results obtained, the test substance is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

With regards to flammability (contact with water) and pyrophoric properties, it was considered sufficient to provide a statement based on the molecular structure rather than performing a full study.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above mentioned result, classification according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC is not considered necessary.
