One GLP study was available for acute oral and acute dermal toxicity, respectively. In both acute studies the LD50 was > 2000 mg/kg bw.

The harmonized data infers that 4,4 -methylenebis(2 -chloroaniline) is classified for R22, however latest studies performed by Japanese laboratories have shown that this classification is not justified.

Based on the results of the acute toxicity studies, the substance does not need to be classified according to the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC and CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.
