Additional information

Conclusion on classification

Classification related key information

- Biodegradation: readily biodegradable: 70-80 % biodegradation after 28 days (OECD 301 F)

- Bioaccumulation: log Kow = 3.9 (QSAR); BCF = 174 L/kg ww (QSAR)

Aquatic acute toxicity

- Aquatic invertebrates: EC50 (48 h) = 59 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured, Daphnia magna, OECD 202 with the read-across substance linool)

- Algae: ErC50 (96 h) = 156.7 mg/L (nominal, Desmodesmus subspicatus, DIN 38412 L9 with the read-across substance linool)

- Fish: LC50 (96 h) 11 mg/L (mean measured, Cyprinus carpio, OECD 203)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

- Algae: ErC10 (96 h) = 28 mg/L (nominal, Desmodesmus subspicatus, DIN 38412 L9 with the read-across substance linool)

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be readily biodegradable under the test conditions. The most sensitive test for the aquatic compartment was the toxicity test to fish (Cyprinus carpio). The test revealed a 96-h LC50 of 11 mg/L. The log Kow was determined to be 3.9. Based on these results, the substance is neither classified for short term (acute) aquatic toxicity, nor classified for long term (chronic) aquatic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the tenth time in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/776.
