Description of key information

For standolized linseed oil, 4 studies on the aquatic toxicity are available for fish, daphnia and algae. In addition, an aquatic toxicity experiment is conducted with the biodegradation products of standolized linseed oil with Daphnia.

An overview of all results is presented in the table below:

Test

Exposure concentrations

Result (nominal, WAF tests)

Algae

OECD 201

WAF test, loading rates of 1, 10 and 100mg/l

NOEL and EL50>100 mg/l, rel 1

Daphnia

OECD 202

WAF test, loading rates of 1, 10 and 100mg/l

NOEL and EL50>100 mg/l, rel 1

Daphnia

Iin line with OECD 202

1:20 dilution of effluent

The 48h-EC50 of the (total mass of the) biodegradation products is above 1 mg/l, rel 2

Daphnia OECD 211reproduction WAF test, loading rates 1, 10 and 100 mg/l NOELR 100 mg/l , rel 1
Fish OECD 203 100 and 1000 mg/l  NOEC 1000 mg/l and LC50>1000 mg/l. rel 2

Conclusion

No toxicity was observed at levels up to 100 mg/L for standolized linseed oil

Concerning its biodegradation products, the 48 h EC50 was found to be > 1 mg/L
