Description of key information

The substance is combustible when exposed to heat or flame.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water. However, the substance is combustible, but only possible at elevated temperatures. The information on flammability is taken from peer reviewed data bases (HSDB and GESTIS).

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, the substance is combustible at elevated temperatures, therefore is not considered to be a flammable solid. The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.
