Additional information

The members of this category are gases and will predominantly partition to the atmosphere. This will limit their aquatic toxicity. Due to the difficulty associated with conducting aquatic toxicity tests, experimental data were not available for the members of this category. In the absence of measured data, estimated data were calculated using the QSAR model ECOSAR Program v1.00 in EPI Suite v4.00. QSAR calculations were conducted for category members (methane, ethane, butane, isobutane and propane). The LC50 (96 hours) for invertebrates is estimated to range from 7.02 to 69.43 mg. l-1in fresh water.
