Description of key information
7647 -01 -0, HCl,
The corrosion rates of Aluminium 7075 T6 are above the corrosion threshold of 6.25 mm/year in >0.1 wt% HCl. Aluminium show pitting corrosion in the Vapor/Liquid and Vapor phase at 1 and 5 wt% HCl.
The corrosion rates of carbon steel SAE 1020 are above the corrosion threshold of 6.25 mm/year in ≥ 1 wt% HCl.
According to the criteria in the UN Standard, aqueous solutions of HCl containing ≥ 0.1 wt% HCl should be classified as corrosive to metals..
