Description of key information

Primary silica fume particles are in the size range of 0.02 - 1.0 µm (average particle size 0.15 µm). During collection, cooling and bagging, the primary particles form larger agglomerates, i.e. assemblies of particles attached to each others due to physical interactions (e.g., van der Waals forces). The results of dustiness test (EN 15051) show that the proportion of respirable particles of the total inhalable silica fume is approx. 1 wt% for undensified silica fume and 2-3 wt% for densified silica fume.
