Hydrolysis of occurred fast and within the time necessary for the acquisition of a 13C NMR spectrum. Therefore, the hydrolysis rate could not be given. For the pH dependence of the hydrolysis it was found that the 0.25% and 1 % solutions of sodium hydroxymethylglycinate completely hydrolyzed at pH 4 and pH 7 after short time (DT50<1.4 h), but only partly at a pH of 9.
